Sci-Fi short Not Born Heroes is here.

Science-fiction. Pulp adventures. Alien invasions. A post-apocalyptic time.

If those words don’t get someone’s pulse racing, then they are better off in a hospital, under close, around the clock supervision. Since they do have a perceptible effect on the nervous system of yours truly, it was all but impossible to resist the temptation of making a film in the same vein. “Not Born Heroes” is not so much a film as it is an homage to my favorite genre of all time, be it in novels, comics or movies.

While I respect other films and filmmakers just the same, I will watch a Spielberg or Cameron film over a Godard or Resnais film any day of the week, and twice on Sundays. So, I figured it was about time that I made a film that reflected my own tastes, as all my previous efforts had been dramas.

Made for a budget of about 20,000 rupees, this film took everything my crew and I had. Sleepless nights and merciless days take up the better part of my memories of making it. Ever-shifting clouds and sporadic bursts of rain contributed to the already-present chaos. We shot for about five days, exceeding our original schedule by three days.
